Castle Dome Mine & Ghost Town

Maria said we worked hard yesterday so today we could play. We drove about an hour outside Yuma to the Castle Dome Mine, Museum and Ghost Town. It was only about 35 miles but 10 miles of the road was dirt road. Maria put it in 4x4 and we made it.

The mine was started in the 1800s and continued operation up on till the 1970s. They moved several of the original buildings into a museum area and it was very interesting. To be a miner looked like hard work.

OK this flying moron keeps flying over. I need an anti aircraft gun. Or a rock. He buzzed us earlier. Thought about firing some 9mm rounds over his nose. But no I'm still on the books and the Sheriff won't like one of his employees on the news even in Arizona.

Anyway back to the mine. They took gold, silver and lead out of the ground. During WW II it was the main producer of lead for the war effort.

Since they had a Sheriff's Office I thought I'd get some work done.

Maria went to church for Ash Wednesday and I got my 10000 steps and two glasses of wine done. Doctors orders.

By the way the evenings here are spectacular.  75° at 8:30 pm. I know why all these Canadians are here.
