Today I went to several seminars. One on RVing to Alaska, Frugal RVing (right up my alley) and one on financial planning. Yes, I had to go to financial planning to see if they were going to give the same old "I'm here to help you pay me by selling you stuff". The guy sounded good but in the end he was a salesman and wanted to sell these folks loaded funds that they could get free. He asked if we had any questions. I waited my turn than I asked him about Paul Merriman and his educational web site. The guy said he never heard of Paul but was nice about it. I could tell he was not happy. So he continued telling these people BS so I asked him if he was a "fiduciary". He said "yes". "LIAR!". I didn't push the point but he is an LPL Advisor so I know he was lying. After the seminar a couple of people came up to me asking about more info on Paul Merriman. In the future I'm going to have business cards made up with Paul's web site and podcast info so I can just give it out.
So later in the afternoon I was walking through the vendor area and saw the financial planner guy. Boy did I get the "Stink Eye". Oh well. He knows that I know his game and if these old folks do their homework they won't be buying him a new car.
