Some of the movies I've seen that were filmed there were John Wayne in Rio Bravo, El Dorado and McLintock. Clint Eastwood also filmed The Outlaw Jose Wales there. The Quick and the Dead, Death Wish, Three Amigos, and lots of other movies were filmed there. TV shows like Bonanza, High Chaparral, Little House on the Prairie and Gunsmoke were also shot there. It was interesting once it was pointed out how the mountain range surrounding the site was visible in so many movies and TV shows.
There were lots of exhibits, tours and shows presented on the half hour.
The shows is where I got in trouble. The first one we went to was the "Snake Oil" salesman who was selling an "elixir" that cures everything. So I'm standing there minding my own business when the salesman (actor) picks me to help him by hitting a drum on cue. Easy enough and I did an excellent job (according to Maria).
We watched more shows which included dancing girls and I was ready for a dance but no.
We then went to the cowboy stuntman show which included a gunfight. So guess who they chose out of a couple of hundred people? Yes yours truly. I was not happy. I would have prefered the dancing girls. The other problem was I was already armed. So they give me a six shooter (I should have just pulled out the one I was carrying). They would have crapped. So after their comedy routine me and my opponent squared off. I should have just shot him from the get go but no, I listened to the head actor and got shot. Everyone laughed so I guess I was a winner.

Next time I'll use my own gun.
It was a fun day and we would recommend a visit to Old Tucson.
