On the High Seas

We left Port Angeles WA  today and traveled to Bellingham WA. About 100 miles but 6 of it was on a ferry. Traveled on the high seas  for about twenty minutes from Port Townsend to Coupeville. Uneventful and not much to see. There was a motorhome in front of us and we were packed in so tight we couldn't get out.

We made it to Bellingham about 3 PM got fuel and settled in to the RV Park for the week. Going to veg a bit and get a few things done around the coach. We will venture into Canada next week. .

  1. Bet you wish you had that book, How to Avoid Huge Ships, as you sat in your coach, trapped like a rat, praying that some Chinese sea captain cleaned the grime from his spectacles as he entered the Puget Sound in his container ship.

It would definitely be a bummer to go down with the ship all because Charlie Chan had the navigation map upside down!

The Puget Sound is a beautiful area and the ferry system that the state operates really is impressive. You can easily get across the sound and I hope once you guys set up camp for a few days you get out and sight see. Downtown Seattle, near the market and the waterfront is really cool and well worth the drive from Bellingham.
