Prince George BC

We made it to Prince George British Columbia yesterday. We are staying at a campground about 10 miles south of town. Nice place but as we are figuring out campgrounds are a bit different than home. They are mostly gravel, not level and only 30 amp electric.  Not that big of a deal just different.

Prince George is a big town by Canada standards about 80,000 population.  They have a Costco. We bought some things and tried to pay. They don't take Costco American Express.  Our debt card wouldn't work so they sent us to the ATM. That worked and we paid in Canadian money. The checker and most of the people in line were very nice and waited. Nice folks here in Canada so far.

We came back to the park and took a walk to get our 10,000 steps.  While out we noticed the clouds were gathering and getting really black. We made it back and found that there was a serve thunder storm alert. So we unhooked from electric got out the weather radio (thanks to the jungle cat) just as the wind and rain started.

Not that big of a deal we've been in worse.  It passed and the bugs stayed away for awhile.  But they returned so we're back inside.

Tomorrow we (Maria) are going to a scrapbook store here. I'm going to check out a liquor store for their wine selection. Liquor is only sold at liquor stores. None at Costco, Walmart or 7-11. Everyone I asked about it said they are working on it.

Thank goodness Canadian  Customs didn't take my 3 boxes of Black Box Wine!

We are having a great time.
