I Spoke To Soon

Today the weather changed and it got cold and windy. The rain blew in and it was on and off till about mid afternoon. The sky's cleaned this evening but it was still windy and cool.

I found a app on the app store to track ships out in the Strait of Del Fuca.  FLEETMON app tracks ships like flight tracker. So now I can see the ship name, port of departure and it's destination. Lots of ship traffic here.

Been watching the riots in Baltimore all evening. Glad to see the police taking control and doing what needs to be done. I can see the future of policing being more like being a fireman. Wait for the call take the report and leave. Don't arrest anyone. Send them a letter or email telling them to show up at court for trial and if needed punishment. That should solve everything.

  1. You found an app that allows you to track shipping... While some might say that this was the first sign you were slipping into Nerdom, I applaud your quest to improve safety as you motor north in your coach.
the danger posed by large ships cannot be understated and the effect that a collision could have between you and a large ship could be catastrophic
I highly suggest that you order from amazon.com Captain John W Trimmers excellent work "How to Avoid Huge Ships." this book is an absolute must read for anyone who operate any type of conveyance; I can say that I personally read the book and I have not collided with a single large ship since doing so.
I urge you John to order this book and read it before departing for the remainder of your journey because you never know when Captain Hazelwood armed with a bottle of rum and an oil tanker will come steaming directly at you from nowhere...
