The Past Few Days

We made it to Alaska and back . Well back to Canada. We left Hazelton BC and traveled to Hyder Alaska population 100. More bears than people.  The bear capital of Alaska. We saw no bears but lots of bear skat  (poop). We did drive to one of the largest glacers. The Salmon Glacer. The road to the summit of the mountain was still closed due to snow so we hiked the 8 miles round trip to the top. Walked through lots of snow and mud. Only 6 of us made it. Me and Maria were one and two to the top. You can guess who was one.

Left Hyder on Thursday stoping in Deseal Lake BC over night. Not much to do. We joined the group at the fire pit and shared more breakdown stories.

Maria saw her first bear next to the road on our drove to Watson Lake. It looked like a juvenile. Maria wanted to stop and take it home so Nala could have a playmate.  I said no of course.

We are in Watson Lake or back to civilization as Maria says. We have cellphone and internet. We went to a show on space black holes and the Northern Lights. It was in a theater with a round screen and you reclined looking up at the screen. Our Nick would have loved it. It was very cool.

There is a sign forest here with thousands of street and town signs. I found the missing city sign from SLO. Boy glad I'm not a cop anymore I might have to take a report. OK tell somebody to take a report LOL.

We have one more stop  tonight than we are in Skagway AK for 4 days.

The roads are getting a little ruff and narrow but we are still in one piece. Well a few things fell but nothing critical.
