Today was Scrapbooking Day (one of the planned activities) here at the Westwind RV Resort. Maria was there bright and early at 0800. Only one other lady (Helen) from Victoria BC showed up. But being hardcore scrapbookers they spent 5 hours cutting, pasting and putting together their works of art.
Me? I'm much simpler eat, walk, rest. I did some more chores around the coach. Which brings me to our dad. He was always doing something around the house. His hands were always bleeding or scabbed because his skin was so thin. He used an electric shaver to avoid razor cuts. I always thought "that will never be me....." Well at 54 I'm there. I can't do anything on the coach or house without a cut or scrape. And time marches on..............
We went to dinner at the resort restaurant to have the Monday special Chicken Cordon Bleu. Well it was 6:00 PM and they were sold out! Darn old people. Next time we're here at 4:00 PM with all the blue hairs. Had a $11 rib eye steak which was OK. Oh well.
The past several years I've listened to a podcast from John and Kathy Huggins "Living the RV Dream" every Friday driving to work. It helped me keep a positive view of our future. It is very entertaining and educational. We got to meet them at Quartzsite a couple of years ago. Kathy was so nice and friendly. This weekend she was taken to the hospital in critical condition. She is doing better but it just shows you never know what's in store for you. So live life like it's your last day on earth cause you never know. Yes I know that's not my usual mindset but I'm learning as I get older :).
