We have been very busy the past few days on tours and more tours.
In Skagway we went up to the Chikoot Trail in Dyea (a town that no longer exists).
This trail was one of two that the gold rushers used to get to the Klondike gold fields. Each man had to take a thousand pounds of goods to the top for himself or be denied passage by the RCMP. To say it's steep is an understatement. We made it up to sign the guest book (50 yards).
We went whale watching on a catamaran. We saw a couple of whales and lots of eagles and seals.
We drove to Whitehorse YT on Thursday and have been touring the area including this paddle wheeler, Yukon River and museums.
This past evening we went to the Frantic Follies. Kinda like the Melodrama at home. Lot's of singing and dancing girls.
It's was fun. Everyone's in the group is tired and today we are catching up on rest, laundry, and maybe a hike later.
How'd you like the steep drive into Scagway?
